World of Subways

World of Subways appears to be a terrific, if high powered, subway simulator from Germany. It costs 29.95 Euros to DL or for the boxed version (plus shipping). My Christmas stocking is already filled with Trainz 2009, so I'll have to wait on World of Subways, but I'm definitely interested.

Does anyone out there have any experience with this sim?

Cheers,

Videos of it on youtube look great however, looking at the pc requirements i dont think i will be able to run it. Trainz 2009 is also my early Christmas present.

Yeah, those requirements look borderline for me. It may work or it may not.

WoS is a quite good underground simulator software. I like it so much because of its excellent graphic, the shift duty mode and the handling of the vehicles.
I think it is worth the money.

WoS2 will come at January with the line of Berlin U7.

If you think, here is my review about WoS with a lot of pictures, but the language is Hungarian:

I purchased both the PATH and the Berlin U7 routes. The graphics are terrific, but the controls are hard to remember. I also found their program interface to be a bit kludgy as well. Of all the things, I wish there were more AI Trains. There's a darth of traffic on what would otherwise be pretty busy routes.

The Amtrak train, by the way in Newark station, is incorrect. Amtrak does not run Superliners east of Chicago as far as I know. They should change this to the Acela Express, and AEM-7s pulling Horizon cars to be more accurate. Also there's too few of them at any time. The commuter trains especially should be more frequent on the actual rail tracks as well, but there are none, and the Amtrak trains are static to boot.

Overall the program runs well on my computer with little if any glitches. I figured that if my computer can run Trainz 2009 with full sliders, it could handle this program without an issue. I was spot-on on this!

Would I recommened this series to others? Sure would. Hopefully their future patches will help enhance the program. Their add-on pack for the PATH route is a start. Now if they'd come up with a user-editor so we can all make our own routes and add-ons, this would make the program even better. ;-)
